Discovering Our Ground of Being – Daylong Urban Retreat in Yoga and Vipassana Meditation with Allison Ulan
December 14, 2019 @ 8:30 am - 2:30 pm
Every season, we all need time to step away from our regular routine and reconnect to what we value. At the roots of the traditions of Yoga and Vipassana meditation are these seasonal rituals to retreat from our routine to re-center, do some inner cleaning and reconnect to our true nature. And often it is before the traditional holidays that we need this self care, self understanding and re-aligning the most.
My daylong retreats are designed and offered just for these purposes. I guide you sensitively through a day of yoga and buddhist meditation forms to allow you to let go of stress, refresh your senses, respect your body and reconnect to your core values.
Reconnecting with our authenticity which is open, creative, fluid and responsive state will be the focus of this December daylong retreat. The core of all yoga and buddhist practices is to embrace who we are, let go of distractions, extend compassion to those parts of us that feel messed up and rest in our inherent awareness of being. When we do, we discover we are whole and strong. We can be grounded and creative in our “funky” human way.
The daylong retreat will look like this.:
- We will start with a centering meditation.
- Then we will practice vinyasa krama yoga class to release tension, align the body and refresh the senses.
- We will pause for lunch.
- Then we will progress through traditional mindfulness meditation forms and diad exercises to hold space for our human “messiness” to cultivate our attention, wisdom and compassion.
- Last, we will practice iRest Yoga Nidra to deepen our connection to what matters most to us and support us to define how we want to live from our integrity.
For the past twelve years, I have been guiding retreats in an artful blend of yoga, somatic movement and vipassana meditation. I love and cherish facilitating these retreats. It is my life’s mission to offer people sacred time to reconnect to what they love and value. Key is reconnecting to our true nature of being. I have witnessed past participants reap the benefits of awareness. They leave retreats released, radically self-accepting and centred.
If you would like to join this retreat, please write to me at email@example.com. This retreat is limited to 12 participants. The fee is $50 plus taxes. Please register in advance to assure yourself a place in this pre-holiday retreat. Please pay by e-transfer to firstname.lastname@example.org. Give the gift of self understanding to yourself this year.
