During this time of great personal and global uncertainty and disruption from the COVID-19 pandemic, we need wisdom, mindfulness, and balance more than ever. These are the qualities that allow us to respond to the needs of the world around us and within us. And yet, often we may feel out of balance and powerless. Because of fear, frustration, and anger towards our immediate experiences, we might yearn for what we don’t have and feel stuck. And of course, we feel overwhelmed by the size of our challenges.

This retreat will focus on the practices of metta (loving kindness and friendship) and upekkha (balance and equanimity) so we can  cultivate the inner fortitude we require to navigate these strange times.
We will gather together to explore the wisdom and practices that strengthen grounded Equanimity and explore how it balances the other essential qualities of the heart. We will nurture friendship practices so we can turn towards our lives with courage and kindness. As a support, we will engage in the embodiment practice of somatic Yoga. Like tuning a guitar, when the heart is well balanced and each string is tuned, beautiful music can be played by a skilled musician. The power of true Equanimity and friendship is that they are our refuges that allow us to stand in the middle of our experience and know its truth. From this embodied perspective, we can choose skillful actions to care for ourselves and others, like playing our lives as skillful and sensitive musicians.
In this retreat, you can participate either in person or online. Just write back and let me know what you wish.
