|Recurring Event (See all)
An event every week that begins at 7:00 am on Monday, repeating until June 28, 2021
These Monday morning sessions are the perfect opportunity to continue your practice and study of Buddhist meditation & philosophy. These session use the Satipatthana Sutta as our textural guide. These teachings are considered the second formal teachings of the Buddha. They were requested by the Buddha’s students who still had a “little dust in their eyes” and could not immediately comprehend The Four Noble Truths. Satipaṭṭhāna meditations are the Buddha’s foundational teaching on mindfulness. Commonly called the four establishments or the four foundations of mindfulness, its contemplations explore the nature of body, feeling-tone, mind, and dharmas.
You may want to support your practice with purchasing Analayo’s translation and commentary on the Satipatthana Sutta. Plus, you can also purchase a hard copy from The Sea of Tranquility Bookstore if you live in Montreal.
Prepare for our sessions with space to move, a chair or meditation cushion, a writing pad and your kind curiosity. To support your consistent practice, I will be recording these sessions. If you register and pay monthly, I will send the audio recordings so you will never miss a session and can can continue your practice throughout the following week.
Fee for the sessions are by donation: suggested weekly fee $10 to $15 or pay for the month suggested fee $30 to $40 plus taxes. Please send donations to me via an e-transfer to firstname.lastname@example.org.
