If you suffer from tight hips that affect your posture, your ability to squat, and your yoga practice, there’s a very good chance I can help you. I’m leading this workshop to help your start your journey of flexibility to blast through years of stress, tension, and tightness.

Why does having more flexible hips help us? Here is a just list of the benefits of hip and leg mobility.

  1. Better Posture and thus less stress on our joints.
  2. Reduced back pain because you will not be placing stress on your lower back and placing your neck out of alignment
  3. Reduced knee pain because your gait (walking pattern) will be corrected.  this then allows your hips and pelvis to lead your gait and your knees to respond with ease.
  4. Stronger knee flexion and ability to squat. Squatting is the balanced actions in the pelvis and legs.  The benefits are numerous from increased strength when walking, better digestion, increased core activation and better breathing.
  5. Sit with more ease and no strain on your back
  6. Workout and do other activities with more agility and coordination because you have regained your nature mobility.
  7. Embody more strength and power when walking and running.

Join me on Saturday September 14th from 2 pm to 4:30 pm for a workshop that will  change your movement and possibly your life.

Location: Mindful Alberta

Fee: $50 regular rate, $40 Senior/Student rate (All fees include GST.)

“The Danger of Tight Hips

Many people assume that tight hips are simply inconvenient. You can’t sit comfortably on the floor, many yoga poses are out of reach, and you get fidgety and uncomfortable in the car and on planes. But it’s much worse than that.

When your hips are tight, you automatically adjust your movement patterns to make up for it. When you squat, your feet turn out and your heels pop up. When you sit cross-legged, your back hunches up into a ball. When you run, your hips don’t fully extend, so your running gait turns into a clumsy waddle, especially when you become fatigued.

All these movement workarounds contribute or even cause chronic back and knee pain, among other problems. When you’re walking, sitting, and running around with poor posture, you’re simply more prone to injury.” Quote from Yoga Body Website
