All Montrealers are saddened and dismayed by the terrible flooding occurring in the province. Montreal has also been severely affected.

In the midst of this catastrophe, a ray of light: the incredible solidarity shown by Montrealers. Through gestures both large and small, from setting up sandbags to defend from rising waters to simply letting a neighbour sleep on the couch, Quebecers have been coming together to help each other out.

On that topic, I want to invite you, if you have the means, to participate in the efforts on the ground. As such, you can contribute financially to the Red Cross’ efforts through this link. https://donate.redcross.ca/ea-action/action?ea.client.id=1951&ea.campaign.id=69612&_ga=2.219017690.2116153857.1494259804-161333775.1494259801. If you prefer to volunteer some of your time, this article on the CBC’s website offers a number of ways you can lend a hand to the flood victims. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/montreal/volunteer-flood-quebec-sandbags-1.4103587

Thanks again to all those who are working tirelessly to lighten the load of flood victims. It’s comforting to see that in this difficult moment for so many people, Montrealers are coming together to help their neighbours.
